Community Service 2022 - 2023

Following the Motto of our school “Caritas Et Veritas”, In truth we serve as a Good Samaritan.
Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service enables students to acquire life skills and knowledge as well as provide a service to those who need it most.
The specific objectives are;
To sensitize the students to the living conditions of the people who are around them, and realize the realities of life and the society.
To bring about an attitudinal change in the students and help them to develop societal consciousness, sensibility, responsibility and accountability
To make students socially responsible citizens who are sensitive to the needs of the disadvantaged sections.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT -1
Our school organized a Community Service Project for the very first time on 14 May, 2022 in collaboration with Lulu Hypermarket.
A total of 120 meals were cooked and distributed to the needy. These packets were distributed to the labourers near Budaiya Police Station.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT -2
Sacred Heart Samaritans Community Service Project-2 was held on 13 June, 2022.
Twenty students of Junior 3, along with their Class Teachers, Core Team teachers and 3 Senior 2 students went to Sehla. They gave away 68 bags of rice to the labourers.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT -3
On 10th December, 2022 Saturday at 9:30 am the Sacred Heart students of Jr. 2 and Sr. 2 had gone out on a community service project to Juffair along with the Teachers. Bags with winter wear was given out to 53 street workers. Reached school at 11:30 a.m.
Being a part of the Community Service, Students define their values, experience empathy, develop social skills and get to understand their community. It also helped students to step out of their own lives and do something that benefits others.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT -4
On 14 February 2023, the Sacred Heart School, Good Samaritan Team had their 4th Community Service Project. This was regarding giving aid to the earthquake victims of Syria and Turkey. Along with the teachers and parents, students of Junior 6 and Senior 1 participated in this project. All together visited the Embassy of Turkey and Syria and handed over few blankets along with women and children’s hygiene products.
This initiative was a motivation for our students to reach out to the needy in times of crisis.
